Profile of Woho & Kalendar Band
After Graduation from the University with a major in Accordion, Piano andOrgan, Wolfgang Hoelzle started to teach accordion and organ at the Music school of Vaterstetten near Munich and later on teaching Accordion for SwissAccordion Teacher association in Bern. Also played concerts with the GermanOrgan Company Wersi at many different locations, later on he changed to play for Technics Musical Instruments Switzerland several Digital Piano, Organ and Keyboard concert demos in Switzerland and Germany.
Woho plays mostly Accordion, Piano and Organ. His professional carrier took him to many different countries such as the US, China, Korea, Australia and Japan where he lives now for the past 18 years in Japan and teaches German & Music at the University. He also played several concerts for the German Embassy in Tokyo and the German Chamber of Commerve in Guangzhou / China ( Oktoberfest Promotion Tour ) He composed and arranged the theme song for the NHK German Radio Course where he worked for the past 8 years. He played / appeared and arranged the TV- Commercial song for several Companies such as Sekisui Heim or Mc Donalds. Lately he performed for the new music video of ELT ( Every little Thing and the Karuisawa Seibu/Group TV CM. Since 2014 Woho plays the Austrian Heurigen Party at the Austrian Embassy.
In 1995 a big chance came up when he moved to Japan where he started to teach German and Music first at the International School, later on he moved on to teach at the University of Tokyo. After two years working at the University of Tokyo he moved on to teach German at the University of Utusnomiya where he is now for the past 15 years and celebration his 15 years anniversary this year.
Additional he produced 5 CD`s with his original song, also published one music sheet " Musette de Paris " worldwide. He performed at the Westin Hotel the Vienna Opera Ball and further several times at the German & Austrian Embassy. Woho received in 2012 the special award, the honorary pin/needle.
Plays, Piano Accordion, Keyboard, Cowbells, Guitar, and Vocals. Learnt to play accordion from the age of seven and first made public appearances from the age of 10. Joined the German Folk dance group in Brisbane where they won several awards and later become Instructor of the group. Formed a high school rock and roll band in 1972 with younger brother Roy and two other members. As a musical career became apparent he left the folkdance group to form the Kalendar German show band with his brothers Peter and Roy, and family friend Herby. As bandleader he was responsible for management and bookings for the band, and has history has shown, since their inception we have been in fulltime professional work since 1978 and have appeared many times on television and in the newspapers in Australia and in Japan.
He is a writer full member of the Australasian Performing Right Association and some of my compositions have received radio and television airplay.
One of his songs also made it to the final of the South Pacific Song contest.
Plays Rhythm Guitar, Trombone, Vocals, Bavarian Dancing. Took part in the Vietnam War in 1969/70, while there, entertained Australian and American troops in Saigon.
After the war traveled overseas to Russia, Tokyo, London, and Germany.
On returning to Australia I joined EMI records and became Queensland State Manager.
In that position he was regularly in contact with international artists such as Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Neil Diamond, Roberta Flack, Dr. Hook, and The Saints. he was personally involved with them when they were touring Queensland.
In 1973 he joined the Kalendar Show band with his 2 brothers and have been working professionally ever since.
unfortunately Peter Sali passed away this year on march second but we will remember him always a very unique person and great entertainer!
Plays Trumpet, Tuba, Swiss Alphorn, Bass Guitar, Lead Guitar, and Vocals.
He started learning trumpet at the age of 10, at about the same time joined the German Folkdance group with his older brother Hasan.
They won several awards for best dancing group from competition Australia wide.
After 7 years of dancing and performing, he left the group to concentrate his focus on German music, which resulted in the formation of "The Kalendar Band". During his schooling years, at the Conservatory of Music. He studied practical and theory of music in trumpet. he was also a member of their high school rock band, playing bass guitar. After graduating from high school, (1974) he worked at the EMI Record Company, as a sales representative, and left this position when the opportunity arose to work full time
in a German restaurant with the Kalendar Band.

Peter joined Woho & Kalendar Band the first time
in 2013 and became in 2016 fix memberof the Band.
Peter studied at the University of Music.
After graduation he performed several symphonic orchestras,
Theater orchestra, Jazz-Pop and Rock bands.
He plays guitar, saxophone, bass, vocal and yodeling.
He also works as a music teacher and piano tuner.
Gloria Aurbacher was born in Bavaria (Germany) in 1987 as the youngest of three children. She grew up in a little village near Munich with her parents, her older sister and her older brother. At the age of 9, she started to learn the trumpet and after a few years her parents took her to their hometown wind band where the rest of the family is also playing. Until now, Gloria is first trumpet as well as one of the six singers of the band.
When she was 21 years old she decided to become a professional trumpet player. Gloria went to a music college in 2008 and after one year she started to study at the "Hochschule für Musik" ( University of Music ) in Freiburg (Germany). An Exchange took her to Manchester (GB) for six months and in 2014 she finished her bachelor degree with the best grading. Right now, Gloria Aurbacher is in her last education year of university and will finish the degree "master of music" in 2016.
Adeline graduated this year from the University of Music.
